Pontin's Crocodile Song

Joe Kane's picture

Does anyone remember and have the words to the Pontin's crocodile song?

It would be great to see them posted here as a reminder if anyone has them.

Thank you!

Even better still does anyone

Even better still does anyone have the actual Pontins Crocodile Song single record ( 45 ) that was sold in the shops on Park that they could please Post & upload on the Forum as an mp3 would be great.

Also does anybody know what was on side b of the record single ? Once again please upload both sides of this record if any Users have this record in their collection or can point in the right direction on the internet where it can downloaded as an mp3.

The biggest of many Thanks!

Nice one Michelle! I remember

Nice one Michelle!

I remember and prefer the 1983 version and I also remember wearing the crocodile suit!

It was very hot inside (and it was also a scorching summer in 1984!)

:-)

Good times though.

Thanks for posting.

I wish I had kepy my vinyl

I wish I had kepy my vinyl record of the 1983 Crocodile Song with Disco Crocodile on the B side.
It's tragic that when I had a mass clear out whilst unemployed back in 2002/2003 I sold it on Ebay for something like a quid! I have linked the You Tube video to my Pontin's Dolphin website :-)

Is Captain Croc still

Is Captain Croc still featured or mentioned at any of the remaining Pontin's camps?

he was at southport June 2008

he was at southport June 2008 and Camber August 2008 with zena the zebra and various others they did a take on high school musical with them all - it was quite funny actually - went back to camber once i heard pontins had been sold and got southport free - sadly i never got to go back to blackpool. i am sure half the outfits used at Riveria Bay are from the Pontins archives and the caberet they put on with the witches in this year was reminscent of the Dolphin RIP one in 93.

I'm amazed and delighted that

I'm amazed and delighted that Pontins still use the exact same kids character and song they've used since the 80s (or maybe earlier). It must be wonderfully nostalgic for a lot of people who went as kids and are now taking their own kids.

By the way, in case anyone wasn't aware, from the recent videos on youtube it seems that they are still using the original 1985 record and playing it in the theatres even now, or at least they were a couple of years ago. If anyone knows different please let me know but there's various videos showing this on youtube.

The second one above also shows them singing "Goodnight Campers", something that has long since gone from Butlins but how wonderful to see it still in use at Pontins.

What I'd like to know though is are the above two examples just showing isolated instances of throwbacks to old entertainment, or do they really still have this regularly at all the Pontins camps now?

I think it's amazing if they do and I'd love to see it.

a snappy happy holiday!

I had never heard the

I had never heard the crocodile song until a few weeks ago but I think I've pretty much already memorised it. Here goes (and I promise I won't cheat this is just from my memory):

"Crocodiles - Salute!
Crocodiles - Smile!
Crocodiles - Snap! Snap! Snap, snap, snap!

Crocodiles, crocodiles, we're marching in single file.
Crocodiles, crocodiles, we're never sad we always smile.
Crocodiles, crocodiles, the crocodiles are on their way.
Crocodiles, crocodiles, for a snappy happy holiday!

Snap 2,3,4 give a Clap 2,3,4
Snap 2,3,4 give a Clap 2,3,4

Crocodiles - Dive!
Crocodiles - Splash!
Crocodiles - Swim! Swim! Swim, swim, swim!

Crocodiles, crocodiles, we're swimming in single file.
Crocodiles, crocodiles, we're swimming for miles and miles.
Crocodiles, crocodiles, the crocodiles are on their way.
Crocodiles, crocodiles, for a snappy happy holiday!

Crocodiles, crocodiles, the crocodiles are on their way.
Crocodiles, crocodiles, for a snappy happy holiday!
For a snappy, happy holiday.
For a snappy, happy holiday.
For a snappy, happy holiday.
SNAP! SNAP!"

a snappy happy holiday!

Good to hear goodnight

Good to hear goodnight campers, always brings a nostalgic tear to the eye. The last one at the end of the season was always charged with so much emotion.
